"A byway on my 65 year weaving journey where art, craft, tradition, and spirit meet."
Bonnie is an artist and longtime weaver in Missoula. She began folding cranes in 2014. Origami is now woven into her artistic expression and a focus of her spiritual practice.
Folding 1000 cranes is said to bring a wish. Bonnie makes her own origami paper with images of previous 1000 crane pieces, and then creates woven work, or refolds into more cranes for her “million crane” installations. This show includes her 44th million crane piece. Bonnie says “As the world becomes more and more out of balance,… I hope my wish to restore harmony through forgiveness will be magnified a thousand fold”. Proceeds from this large piece will be donated to the Salish tribe, on whose land Missoula sits.
The public is invited to an opening reception on Friday, February 7 from 5-8 pm. We will be having an Artist's Reception for Bonnie on Friday, March 7 from 5-8pm. Please join us for both!
This show can be seen through March 31, 2025 Hours - Open 10-6 Mon-Fri, 10-5 Sat and Sun
