Sue Spanke, Konya Designs Shirts and Cards

All the shirts and cards from Konya Designs feature Sue's artwork. My designs start with a good hike combined with my imagination. In the summer I like to spend time in the Montana mountains' rocky “gardens” of columbines and other wildflowers, sketching or taking reference photos. These inspire my card and shirt designs. My work is very colorful, but all my pieces are actually pencil drawings with color added in the printing process.
My shirts & cards are the canvas for my art. I start with complex line drawings and then simplify them. I try to respect my plants and animals by making them both biologically correct and beautiful.
