I started my woodworking journey in 2016 by making a stepstool for my daughter when she was just a toddler. Using only a few basic tools, I realized I enjoyed the process of creating something useful as much as I enjoyed seeing the finished product. The more wooden things I made, the more tools I acquired. I started getting requests from friends and family for items, and soon realized this enjoyable hobby could be a good business venture. As a veteran and former firefighter, I found woodworking to be not only peaceful and enjoyable, but quite therapeutic as well. And thus, “WoodZen Woodworking” was born.
“Do something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” My woodworking focuses mostly on fine woodcrafts like furniture and functional items like cutting boards, although I have completed some larger-scale projects like pergolas. I use a variety of domestic and exotic woods in my creations. These include: Domestic: Hard Maple, Cherry, Walnut, Red Oak, Eastern Red Cedar Exotic/Imported: Purpleheart (Central and South America) Canarywood (Central and South America) Bloodwood (South America) African Padauk (West Africa) Black Limba (West Africa) Sapele (West Africa) Zebrawood (West Africa) Contact Morgan @ (406) 546-1898 |
